The Rimon School of Jazz is Israel's largest independent professional
music school for the advanced study of contemporary music. Over 400 students and 55 faculty members work in an environment designed to provide the complete music learning experience possible.
rimon-ijs offers its students a three year program that concentrates on eight majors: Composition and Arranging, Film Scoring, Song Writing, Jazz Performance, General Performance, Music Production and Engineering, Music Education and an advanced Combined Program of composition, performance and production.
Israel is a country built on immigration and along with the native "sabres", new immigrants from Russia, South America, US and Europe find that rimon-ijs is a haven for them as they acclimate themselves to their new lives. The international mix of lifestyles and musical influences gives students an opportunity, in an unpressured environment to familiarize themselves to the growing cultural crossovers in contemporary music.
rimon-ijs's facilities include a sophisticated recording studio and MIDI room and an extensive library combined with a teaching staff of working musicians that gives students an excellent foundation for pursuing their studies in every aspect of the music industry. The teaching philosophy at rimon-ijs resembles a "work/study" program, only at rimon-ijs the is playing, and the study is the exploration of music.
Students are assigned to ensemble classes immediately upon enrolling; they have the opportunity to record their work using our new recording studio on campus; they are encouraged to start playing; to participate in campus concerts and to start gigging.
By providing students with a solid foundation in theory and practical experience, rimon-ijs knows its graduates can successfully take on the challenges of the different media: live performances, recordings, composition, arranging and scoring for film and theater. As a result, rimon-ijs graduates become music professionals who work as performers and/or composers, arrangers and producers.
